1 / 2Longsight Park
📍 Bolton, North West
Well-maintained Bolton park with climbing frames, slides, and swings for children up to age 10, large grassy football area with goalposts, woodland trails, and river access. Free parking and picnic facilities on site.
Lovely park. Plenty of parking. There is a play park with climbing frame, slides, and swings - up to age 10, I'd say. Next to the park is a huge grassy area with goal posts perfect for a game of football. We then went for a walk around and found a wooded area with a river that the boys loved. There are benches and picnic tables dotted around, so the next visit, we'll take a picnic
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children up to age 10 who want to mix structured play with nature exploration in a single visit. The woodland and river section extends the outing well beyond the playground itself. Dog-owning families have open and wooded stretches to use.

Overview
Longsight Park combines a maintained playground — climbing frames, slides, swings suited to children up to around age 10 — with a large grassy area and goalposts for football. Woodland trails lead to a river that children can explore. Picnic benches are positioned throughout. A decent-sized free car park adjoins the site. The park attracts dog walkers, cyclists on the trails, and birdwatchers in the wooded section.
