Marsh Farm Animal Adventure Park
📍 Chelmsford, Greater London
Marsh Farm in South Woodham Ferrers, Essex, covers multiple acres with farm animals, an interactive dinosaur zone with fossil digging, rides, indoor and outdoor play areas, and seasonal festivals including Easter and Halloween events.
Superb day out & well worth the entry fee! We visited as they had a "K-pop demon hunters show" on in the theatre barn, Chloe introduced the show brilliantly & got us all seated in the theatre in a well organised fashion. Lots do and activities were all close together which saved long walks between the rides ect. Highly recommended for a fun family day out in Essex
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children aged 2–10 wanting a varied day of animals, rides, and play rather than a single-activity venue. The dinosaur zone is the most popular addition for children in that age range.

“Cool new dinosaur feature - Visited on Wednesday, 16th April 2025, on a day out with my sister and her 7-year-old granddaughter. Have visited twice in the past ( since Partyman operators took over) and find it's better to visit on quieter days if possible, as the site can get a bit overwhelmed when it has full occupancy, visitor-wise. As it is given, this was April HT rather than the 6-week holiday. Some of the things you can expect to see (Bubble & Pop Tent, Open swim/paddle area and grass-based LEGO/soft toy play area) in high summer were absent, but on this visit, the new Dinosaur attraction was open, and that made up for these omissions. This dinosaur attraction is obviously a big investment from the park, but a bit random as to the point of its inclusion, though it does have some cool features I have not seen at similar bolt-on attractions at other parks. If you take your time in truth, there is almost too much to see and do in a day, so my suggestion is to come early and take your time. We ate in the cafe, and it is a bit of a madhouse in there, in part due to the inclusion of the soft play area next to the cafe, but it does mean there is somewhere parents can safely eat and not have to watch 100% what their kids are doing. All the staff I've encountered on each visit have been lovely, and the only negative on this visit was that the mini train broke down just before we were to ride on it, and there were several areas closed off due to non-existent maintenance being listed as taking place (i.e. Mini Golf and the Maze).”

“Marsh Farm is a fun, family-friendly attraction with a lot to offer, especially for younger children. If many of its features are open, it can be a full and enjoyable day out. The dinosaur attraction is a popular addition that many mention as a highlight. there's also a sand area which is great for toddlers . However, you should go in with tempered expectations: Don’t assume everything will be operating, check ahead or early on. Be prepared for waits in food areas. Inspect cleanliness, especially around restrooms / play areas. Consider bringing your own snacks or backup plan for mealtimes.”

Overview
Marsh Farm features farm animals, a dinosaur attraction with climbing boulders and fossil digging, fairground-style rides, a theatre barn for live shows, indoor and outdoor play areas, and a sand play zone. Seasonal events — notably Easter and Halloween — add dedicated programming. The on-site cafe draws mixed reviews on value; a packed lunch area is available. Free parking and indoor all-weather facilities make it viable year-round.
