We went to Oaklands during weekdays at evening and it was quite .During weekends it remains busy. It has its own free parking area . It is a big ground with large extended and divided space. It consists of two children play areas where you can find slides, swings ,climbing frames, seesaw etc. There are many high and low slopes for balancing. Some gym equipments and couple of swings on every side. Football court and a lovely garden with some nice flowers. I like it for its ample space that does not make it feel like over crowded even if it is busy.

🏆 Family Action Verdict

Best for families wanting a free, car-accessible park with space to spread out and varied equipment for children at different ages. The all-paved loop is genuinely clean of mud in all seasons — useful for families avoiding post-walk boot washing. The city views from the hilltop are a standout feature worth the walk up.

Oaklands is a hidden treasure. You can stand at the top of the hill and feel like you're on top of the world, watching the trains and the city skyline in the distance. The paths are brilliant for a winter walk—no mud at all if you stay on the loop. It’s a great place to let the dog have a proper run-around, and the parkrun community here is the friendliest I’ve ever found. It feels safe, open, and has a real sense of space that you don't get in the smaller city parks. A proper 5-star lungs for the city

Visited here for the Saturday 9am parkrun. Easy place to find and loads of free parking. It's a very open parkrun, whilst it was cool and sunny for us, I imagine on a wet, windy or very hot day it's hard work. Was well organised and marshalled and not a massive crowd, ~ 150 runners. The run is all on paths so road shoes are fine, it's 3 laps, with a couple of gradual hills per laps. Great views over Birmingham from the top.

Nice and tidy play area for the children. Seats dotted around the park. Plenty of free parking. Lovely surroundings. The field is always cut and usable. It has beautiful rose garden. Lot of open space for dog walkers. Skate ramp is next to kids play area, plenty of bins. It's well looked after by the park attendents as they are always working to keep park tidy and looking lovely

Two play areas serve different age groups, with slides, swings, climbing frames, and a seesaw. A skate ramp sits adjacent to the main play area. Two full-size football pitches and a rose garden complete the grounds. Free parking with electric car charging bays is on-site.
