I've loved bringing my 2 year old son to play here, and we recently booked the party room for our whole antenatal group, as all 10 little ones had 2nd birthdays within a few weeks of each other. The whole team were really accommodating & made sure we had all the info we needed. Our littles had the best time, & as this was my first time back in a few months, it was lovely to see even more murals on the walls and more lovely details added in the rooms. Remember to wear warm socks, as it's understandably no shoes allowed, and the floor is cold (a good thing in a busy place!), but you can get shoe covers when you arrive if you forget like I did!

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

The strongest choice in Bristol for toddlers aged 2-4 whose parents want imaginative, non-screen play in a space that prioritises calm over sensory overload. Birthday parties work exceptionally well here given the spacious cafe area and contained play rooms.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

πŸ’‘Wear warm socks β€” shoes come off at the door and floors are concrete throughout
⏰Book the party room well in advance; group bookings fill quickly
🎟️The cafe uses local ingredients and is a genuine draw for parents
πŸš—Open Wednesday to Monday; check the website for session booking

β€œI’ve visited lots of time with my 2 and 3 year old daughters and she really loves it, it’s great it’s spacious and not overfilled with either things or people leaving space for imagination and not too overstimulating. It’s one of the best play spaces in Bristol. Coffee also excellent. Today we hosted a joint 3rd birthday there and it was absolutely amazing. Staff were kind and lovely, space worked so well for everyone and all the children loved it. Highly recommend.”

β€œHad a fantastic birthday party for our daughter here. Safe and well contained. Worked really well with plenty of space off the play area with the cafe for coffees and birthday cake. The right number of props and toys in each room. Would 100% recommend and thinking about booking again next year”

Overview

Pickle Street occupies a spacious converted venue in Bedminster, arranged as a miniaturised city with themed rooms designed to encourage imaginative, creative play for children up to around age 4. Each room is purposefully not overfilled, giving children and accompanying adults room to move and interact. The on-site cafe uses local suppliers and has earned specific praise. Concrete floors mean children and adults should wear warm socks; shoes are removed at entry.
