1 / 3Victoria Park Playground
đ Bristol, South West
Popular community park in south Bristol with climbing frames, a bowling green, tennis courts, and abundant wildlife including friendly squirrels. A drinks and snacks van operates near the top entrance.
On this occasion, I went to the park to play bowls, the club was friendly, the green was good and we had a lovely afternoon playing there. The park has tennis courts, kiddies, playground, the park is a green lung in the south Bristol area, a huge space of beautiful trees and grassland. A haven for runners and walkers it never seems crowded, but the park has lots of people doing their thing there. By the top entrance, there will usually be a van selling drinks and snacks, also the local community selling surplus fruit and veg. Well worth a visit.
đ Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children who can handle climbing equipment without soft surfaces, and who enjoy a natural, active park setting rather than a purpose-built playground. The wildlife â particularly the hand-feeding squirrels â is a genuine highlight for children of all ages.

âGreat Park for wildlife, plenty of very friendly squirrels, if you offer monkey nuts they will take them from you.â

âPlay area very busy with the majority of the children playing happily. Only tarnished by a number of young lads who insisted on bringing their cycles into the area and using obscene language and objectionable behaviour. Lovely to see a temporary cafe again... it really knits the community togetherâ
