Widnes ice rink is a great day out with friends or family. You can take your own boots or hire boots through your booking. The rink also provides a balance penguins for kids unstable on the ice at an extra cost. There is a cafe onsite that provides snacks, hot and cold food and drinks but doesn’t provide a lot of seating space to sit and enjoy it. I’ve found on each of our visits there is never anywhere to just sit and rest between skating. Toilet facilities are good and plenty of them.

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Best for families introducing children to ice skating for the first time β€” instructors handle mixed ages well and are experienced at easing nervous beginners onto the ice. Birthday parties are well-hosted with dedicated staff.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

πŸš—Cafe seating is sparse β€” arrive early or plan around quieter periods

β€œFirst time at this ice-rink and not skated for 30 odd years. Booked in for the taster lesson, was very impressed, the two instructors made it fun and they did well with a big group of mixed ages. Can't wait to go again, may have to wait till my feet recover though πŸ€£β€

β€œAt first it was amazing i had took my two daughters age 12,13 they had enjoyed themselves however my poor autistic daughter had her polar bear RIPPED out her hands by a β€˜worker’ (that i found out later he was no in any way related to the rink and was a complete stranger) yes a grown man snatched my daughters dear polar bear. SHE WAS LEFT DISTRAUGHT. she then tried to skate back and fell and DISLOCATED her knee my poor girl!!! when telling the workers this they were a bunch of wet lettuce and didn’t even speak to the man my other daughter had gotten a hot chocolate and scorched her self on the cup!!! as they had spilled it everywhere, lovely place highly recommend take them kids to have a great safe and fun time,πŸ’˜πŸ’˜β€
