1 / 2Ponderosa Zoo
đ Liversedge, North West
Family zoo in Liversedge with 100+ animals including lemurs, meerkats, reindeer, and otters. Features a walkthrough lemur enclosure, nocturnal house, keeper talks, outdoor play areas, and pram-friendly paths throughout.
Great little zoo with some cool and unusual animals. We were lucky enough to get to spend some time with just us and the limas which was really cool, the keeper was really friendly and informative and told us lots about them. Entry price was reasonable and the staff were all really friendly and the animals seemed happy and well cared for. It was good to read before hand that the zoo is involved in conservation work and holds good certifications. It's a small place but we spent a couple of hours there, there are some good picnic spots and nice areas to sit. Would definitely recommend đ
đ Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children under 10 seeking an intimate zoo experience without the scale or crowds of major wildlife parks. The lemur walkthrough and keeper talks provide genuine close-up animal time. Plan for 2-3 hours rather than a full day.

âWe have been coming here for over 10 years and love it. Very good pricing for entry, food and drinks. Well laid out with plenty of play parks and seating along the way. Hand wash stations dotted around and toilets too. All the staff are super friendly and helpful. Looking forward to more visits over the next 10 years.â

âIncredible zoo! Much smaller than most zoos we visit but we still spent the whole day there. The nocturnal house was a favourite for us for sure. Everyone looked so well looked after and youâ

âNice little zoo with a small but varied collection of animals. The lemur walkthrough was closed for maintenance when I visited and it seems the pizza shed is only open in school holidays. The staff wandering around were friendly. The place seems a bit worn down and the animals looked a little tired, bit I think they were waiting for lunch. A nice place to wander for a couple of hours, but I wouldn't make a day of it.â
