1 / 3Cannon Hall Farm
π Barnsley, North West
Working farm attraction near the M1 with sheep and ferret racing, tractor rides, reptile house, indoor Hungry Llama soft play, and daily animal talks. On-site restaurant, farm shop, and gift shop. Suitable for all ages.
What a wonderful working family owned farm. I recently discovered Cannon Hall farm and I have already visited twice. Itβs currently lambing season so Iβve had the opportunity to see lambs being born. All the staff I have come across are so welcoming and knowledgeable. The whole site is so lovely and clean and itβs clear to see how much the animals are loved and cared for. There is something for everyone and most areas are fully accessible. I spent the full day there on both visits. I enjoyed lunch in the restaurant and you can tell everything is cooked fresh. They also have a lovely gift and farm shop which are not to be missed. Thank you to Rob for opening his farm up so the public can visit. Cannon Hall farm are also on Facebook and YouTube where you can become a supporter and watch live videos. Finally I must mention Soldier the little lamb who has become a firm favourite. Updated as Iβve now visited 4 times now and I love it so much. It really is the most beautiful family run farm. All the animals are truly cared for. The food outlets are delicious. The farm shop simply must be visited for top quality food amongst lots of other fantastic items.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children across a wide age range β the farm shop and restaurant satisfy adults, the animal encounters and racing events land with school-age children, and the indoor soft play gives toddlers their own space. Lambing season is the top seasonal draw, with staff allowing close-up observation.

βAbsolutely exceptional! We travelled 50 minutes from York to visit and we loved it. An immaculate place with very happy animals. Super clean with great food facilities too. We ate in The Hungry Llama, our 10 year old daughter loved it. She could play before the food arrived and then after! Food was a good price that we chose. Soup was delicious. Chip butty was my option for a light snack but it was huge and very yummy! As a HUGE highland cow fan it was great to see them!! Just a lovely place and very friendly staff too. Tractor ride was great, friendly guy too. Play parks were great too!! We cannot wait to return in warmer weather but had a fantastic day, thank you to all involved!!β

βA absolutely amazing farm so much to see ,so much to do, so much to eat. Many animals to look at easy access around the farm. If you have children, they will love the play areas. Lots of different areas to choose from to play. Picnic tables around the areas so you can eat your own food or thereβs plenty of places to buy. Then you have the farm shop is the best of it ever ever come across. Ice cream shop is to die for and then you have the lucky pup and the bull pub thereβs something there for everyone. Old and young. He is my favourite place to go in the whole of UK. A farm staff are very helpful and knowledgeable well worth the trip and such a good price to get into.β
