1 / 2Surrey Docks Fitness & Water Sports Centre
π London, Greater London
1km watersports dock with sailing, kayaking, powerboating, rowing, and canoeing. Indoor gym, three fitness studios, and learner pool on site. Suitable from age 3.
I am extremely unhappy with the service I received. The staff were unprofessional, dismissive, and completely unhelpful. I made a straightforward request to freeze my membership and was told it requires 14 daysβ notice β something that was never clearly communicated in advance. Rather than trying to assist or find a reasonable solution, they hid behind policy and showed no willingness to help. This experience made it clear that customer care is not a priority β taking payments is. Very disappointing. Not recommended.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families wanting on-water skills training β the accredited sailing and kayaking courses are the standout draw. The gym works for parents during children's lessons. Membership admin requires patience; read the freeze-notice terms before signing up.

βPoor customer service. The staff are unprofessional, unhelpful, and clearly uninterested in resolving basic issues. I made a simple request to freeze my membership and was told it requires 14 daysβ notice β something that was never clearly communicated upfront. Instead of offering a solution, they hid behind rigid policies and showed zero flexibility or accountability. It feels like the only priority here is taking your money, not supporting members. Completely disappointing experience. Not recommended.β

βThe gym didn't open on time this morning. (Not the first time since Southwark council took over) the gym after refurbishing is worst in term of equipment. The equipment itself looks budget and the chunky machines are totally not accessible for disable or older people. The flor looks uneven and the set up of machines is not very functional. Sine the gym has been refurbished. it doesnβt seem the machines been cleaned by anyone. It a shame because it use to be a great gym and had a good vibe.β

βThe gym is too small for the amount of people. We are literally training on top of each other making it very dangerous especially if training with heavy weights. They start turning off the lights at 9:30pm while people are still training which is so unsafe. I donβt recommend this place. It is cheap but because of queuing for a machine you can just end up spending your time waiting. Also the clips for the barbells are so cheapβ¦ so fit and some donβt, wish they had better ones.β
