We've visited CAFT plenty of times over the years for Forest School, Easter, Halloween, Christmas and CAFTfest events. But this last weekend was the 1st time we have ever been invited to come to stay for a residential. It was a super lovely experience from start to finish. We had a great time as a family and we feel very lucky and grateful for such a wonderful opportunity. Weather was absolutely amazing for us too which just made everything so much better overall! The phone calls, emails and welcome pack prior to arrival made it easy to understand what to expect during our stay and definitely helped in preparing the children for the trip. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by the lovely Sally, Sally's son and Chris. They welcomed us kindly and gave us a lovely tour of the apartment and surrounding facilities such as the Hangout and Laundry etc. Such kind, friendly people with amazing smiles! The apartment and facilities were immaculate, tidy and very well looked after. Plenty of books, games and activities to keep us occupied during our stay. We were also offered halal food for which we are truly grateful and appreciative. Rachel did an absolutely amazing job over the weekend of looking after us and serving us during meal/snack times. She explained everything well and food was always presented in a nice, timely and organised manner. She was very friendly and approachable and went out of her way to make us feel even more welcome. We met 2 other families during our stay who we exchanged numbers with and have decided to keep in touch with. We are looking forward to meeting with them at future CAFT events. As carers we don't often get to meet and sit with other likeminded families and it can become quite lonely and depressing. So we are grateful we were able to get along with other carers who understood our experiences and struggles in living with children with additional needs. We all had an amazing time together walking in the woods, bonding over mealtimes and generally relaxing. We met Ian briefly on our last day but again would like to reiterate just how much of a difference these residentials make to our lives. Sadly, we can't travel abroad due to medical reasons but to have this opportunity available makes us truly thankful and appreciative. Thank you to all at CAFT for always making us feel welcome and becoming a place for lots of wonderful memories for us all. Literally made it a home away from home. Ps: the animals were amazing as always! The children loved feeding and petting them.

βWhat a wonderful place with amazing people. So inspiring and generous for those families with additional needs or those underprivileged. Plenty of space with lots to offer from animals, sensory play and adventure. The play area is great offering loads to anyone who visits. I can't recommend this highly enough truly fantastic. We hope our family gets a chance to visit againβ
