1 / 3The Oakwood
π Esher, Greater London
Multi-activity adventure centre in Esher offering dry ski slopes with lessons and holiday camps, high ropes courses, laser tag, and Ringo party packages. Cafe and gym on-site with terrace overlooking the activities.
Booked my teens onto the high ropes on a Tuesday in Feb half term, whilst visiting my mum who lives locally. I think they may have been a little old for it, (13 and 16) but enjoyed it. They did get caught behind slower younger ones which was unfortunate. The team booking in and running the high ropes seemed efficient and friendly. They said they could go round a 2nd time when they reached the end. I sat in the cafe with my mum which was very well presented, warm and inviting. We had a view of some of the ropes and ski slope from the window. Also a great view towards London. You could get a better view from the terrace outside. The waitress couldβve been more friendly and welcoming. She didnβt communicate very well but bought a coffee to our table. Toilets were clean and well presented (apart from some wallpaper coming off in one cubicle) Many people working on laptops in the cafe. It did give it a feeling of an office space although it was quiet. If I had bought younger children in there, Iβd have felt awkward about them making noise.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children aged 8β16 seeking genuine outdoor thrills and structured instruction. Ski lessons stand out for nervous beginners β instructors offer real one-to-one support. Birthday party options across laser tag, Ringo, and high ropes are well-executed and get repeat bookings year after year.

βWe had my sonβs 13th birthday activity at The Oakwood, a Ringo party. This is the 3rd year in a row we have done this for his birthday and thereβs a reason, the kids love it, itβs such good fun. Also, especially since the re-fit, the facilities are great, nice terrace next to the bar area which is great to look at them on the slopes whilst also having a coffee or quick drink. Food was great, and all the staff in the bar and kitchens were very helpful including those bringing across all the platters of pizzaβs etc. The team kitting the kids out with helmets etc were great as well and the lads on the ski slope did a fantastic job tirelessly pushing them all off at the top of the runs and organising different combinations of runs down. These parties can get booked up early but do it, you wonβt regret it and the children all have such a good time.β

βTook my 12 year old daughter for the Trailblazers beginners ski-session. She was very nervous and can be timid with things like this, but the instructors were great and gave her extra support when she needed it. In the end she made good progress. Nice set up there, and I thought the session was good value for 3hours. Would recommend it, and if she enjoys her upcoming ski trip would definitely take her back for more lessons.β

βMy granddaughter and 13 friends had an amazing Mini Ringo Party at the weekend. Never heard so many squeals of delight!!! The staff were great, the food beautifully presented and the children bursting with excitement. The adults happily looked on with drinks in hand, as a great time was had by all in a beautiful setting. Many thanks.β
