We visited this incredible Tropical Birdland for the first time today. We were blown away by how amazing it was. They have over 300 birds from all over the world along with meerkats, maras, capybaras, tortoises, alpacas, wallabies and goats. You can buy food and feed the birds, each enclosure tells you what the birds like to eat. Some sections you can be in with the birds and others are closed off. At the end they have a parrot pathway where the birds can be on your shoulders and you can interact with them. They have hand-wash facilities dotted about. Most of the area is accessible for wheelchairs apart from the woodland walk - which is closed in the muddy weather anyway. It’s a great place for all ages to learn and interact with exotic birds. During January they close at 2pm and last entry is an hour before closing. We sent about 1.5 hours here. We look forward to returning

Children with additional needs are well supported — staff are present without being intrusive, creating a calm and accessible environment. Save walnuts and peanuts for the parrot pathway at the end, where birds respond most enthusiastically.

“Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and will help you get what you need as you go in, and also help you interact safely with the birds. They have a huge variety of birds which are all really interesting to see and it's amazing that the birds can sit on your shoulder or arm. The meerkats were particularly adorable and cute! Amazing experience, and also a really good opportunity to take pictures and have a good time. They also give you advice on what to feed the birds and you can purchase a food bag on arrival! It can get a little loud, but outside of that it's a super fun visit. It won't take you very long to go around the whole area either.”

“First time here today and such a good day out if like birds . Prices are good too. You can also buy bird food for £2.00 or all 4 types for £6.00 which are fruit nuts millet spray & also a tub of mealworm . There are plenty birds too look at you can also a walk threw you can do . Go in and feed budgies and cockatils . Would suggest not wearing you best clothes incase any of the birds land on you and pooop on you or try and eat any shinny objects off your clothes. Deffo will go back again . Been a great day out . Theres a onsite cafe too also buy food . But you are allowed to take your own in.”

“An amazing experience, well worth the price. Save some walnuts and peanuts for the end - they LOVE THEM! Daughter is on the spectrum so needs a little extra help. Staff were always visible and accessable but not in your face so - perfect balance for support. The birds can largely just wander around the place but choose to stay where they are because they each have their own territories. Pretty clear they are very happy birds living their best FREE lives. Absolutely fantastic.”

Overview
Tropical Birdland houses more than 300 species from around the world — parrots, budgies, tropical birds — many of which land on shoulders and arms.
