Vue Altrincham shows current releases with underground parking and a cafe. Seating is older non-reclining style and some screens have reported stained upholstery. Children aged 15 and above may be asked for ID for age-appropriate films.

Enjoyed my visit this evening, cinema was clean and staff were polite and welcoming. Watched the film in screen 5 which was small but was clean and the seats are really comfy, just wish some people would keep there trainers on because their feet stink! 😡🀒 Also used the carpark located underneath the cinema and cost me £2.50 for 4 hours which I thought was reasonable, it was quiet on a Saturday evening but it gives people a alternative place to park instead of goose green carpark opposite (which was still open when we came out around 2245) It's handy having a cinema close by and is still my number one choice to view new releases.

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Best for Altrincham families who want a straightforward local cinema without travelling to Manchester city centre. The underground parking and central location make logistics easy. Families expecting recliner seating or modern Vue standards will be disappointed β€” this branch runs older equipment and some seats are in poor condition.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

πŸ’‘Underground parking is available at a flat rate β€” cheaper than street alternatives
⏰Children aged 15 and above should bring ID for any age-restricted film
🎟️Check your seats on arrival and ask staff to relocate you if condition is unacceptable
πŸš—Screen 5 is small and older and recently noted as clean and comfortable

β€œWent to watch Wicked: For Good on the Sunday after it was released, about a week ago. The first 2 minutes they didn't turn off the lights and then throughout the movie the lady two seats to my left had her phone left turned on and on her lap multiple times throughout, not even looking at it. Then another person towards the front of the theatre had their phone on too. My glasses glare when there's lights like this so it was very distracting”

β€œDuring my visit today at altrincham vue staff were extremely rude, despite the fact my friends and i met the age requirement of 15 because we supposedly needed to bring β€˜ID’ !! What teenager has ID at the age of 15? What a waste of time and money- all we wanted to do was watch a film together, rightfully because we DO meet the regulations so we assumed we would be let in, but that was not the case. Instead we were turned down….day ruined. I believe staff could of handled the situation with more politeness, no understanding was shown, specifically from the manager. Wont visit again.”

β€œPaying for parking when people pay to go to the cinema anyway is ridiculous Also, this has been raised in another review but the seats are absolutely disgusting and very stained. Me and my partner decided to go home upon seeing the where we would be sitting for 3 hours. We mentioned it to the staff on the way out and they were lovely about it and said they’d raise it. Didn’t bother with asking for a refund as we had a voucher for half price, but would be pretty annoyed if we’d paid full price”

Overview

Vue Cinema Altrincham covers multiple screens with a cafe and underground parking. The building uses older-style non-reclining seating with seats packed more tightly than at newer Vue branches. Multiple reviewers have flagged heavily stained and deteriorating seat upholstery in some screens. Staff have asked teenage visitors aged 15 and above for ID for films with age ratings, which has frustrated some families. Screen 5 is noted as small and clean by recent visitors.
