1 / 3Wild Water Rapids at Subtropical Swimming Paradise
π Warminster, Greater London
Indoor river rapids course at Longleat Center Parcs running 400 metres with a 30-metre elevation drop, heated to a consistent temperature year-round. Best for confident swimmers who enjoy fast, unpredictable currents.
Over the years I have visited quite a few waterparks, and Longleat Centerparcs Wild Water Rapids is definitely on the top of my list. The rapids River starts at the top of indoor complex and is joined by a large entrance pool. It's a little bit colder than the pool, so take a deep breath as you enter the rapids. First you have to negotiate and enjoy the waterfall that cascades upon you as you swim, (very fun and refreshing). Then you start to hit the rapid slides. Each slide getting bigger until you reach the longest one which is about 40 meters long. The elevation from top to bottom is about 30 meters and the rapids themselves must be 400 meters long. It's just so much fun. You can't stop yourself from just going round and round the rapids for ages. Trying out new approaches every time, and just enjoying beautiful surroundings in which the rapids are set. Even in busy times there is plenty of room. Lifeguards are plentiful and will keep the flow of people going. FEET FIRST is something you will hear hundreds of times from the Lifeguards. (Or was it just me ) My honest opinion...... This rapid ride is a 10 out of 10 experience. To watch the full video of the Wild Water Rapids at Longleat Centerparcs follow us on YouTube @Weekendwildness
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with confident swimmers aged 8 and above who want genuine thrills. The strong currents and elevation drop make this a proper ride, not a gentle float β expect to be pulled off your feet and bumped into other riders during busy periods.

βThe rapids are great, probably the best & most fun activity in the swimming pool. Can get very busy and you canβt help crashing into people! Lovely at night when all lit up.β

βSo much fun! Itβs a fast, wild ride down. The only problem is that it can be crowded and you may end up bumping into other people as the rapids pull you onwards.β

Overview
The Wild Water Rapids at Longleat's Subtropical Swimming Paradise form a 400-metre enclosed river course with strong currents pulling riders through bends and a 30-metre drop. The facility runs year-round at a consistent water temperature. Quiet hours operate on Wednesday and Sunday mornings. Lifeguards actively manage the course and enforce feet-first positioning on all slides. The rapids are the most popular single attraction in the pool complex.
