Over the years I have visited quite a few waterparks, and Longleat Centerparcs Wild Water Rapids is definitely on the top of my list. The rapids River starts at the top of indoor complex and is joined by a large entrance pool. It's a little bit colder than the pool, so take a deep breath as you enter the rapids. First you have to negotiate and enjoy the waterfall that cascades upon you as you swim, (very fun and refreshing). Then you start to hit the rapid slides. Each slide getting bigger until you reach the longest one which is about 40 meters long. The elevation from top to bottom is about 30 meters and the rapids themselves must be 400 meters long. It's just so much fun. You can't stop yourself from just going round and round the rapids for ages. Trying out new approaches every time, and just enjoying beautiful surroundings in which the rapids are set. Even in busy times there is plenty of room. Lifeguards are plentiful and will keep the flow of people going. FEET FIRST is something you will hear hundreds of times from the Lifeguards. (Or was it just me ) My honest opinion...... This rapid ride is a 10 out of 10 experience. To watch the full video of the Wild Water Rapids at Longleat Centerparcs follow us on YouTube @Weekendwildness

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Best for families with confident swimmers aged 8 and above who want genuine thrills. The strong currents and elevation drop make this a proper ride, not a gentle float β€” expect to be pulled off your feet and bumped into other riders during busy periods.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

πŸ’‘Visit Wednesday or Sunday mornings for quieter conditions and fewer collisions
⏰Enter the rapids gradually β€” the water temperature drops noticeably from the main pool
🎟️Lifeguards enforce feet-first positioning throughout β€” follow instructions immediately to avoid disruption
πŸš—Plan for multiple laps β€” the rapids are short enough that one circuit leaves most visitors wanting more

β€œSo much fun! It’s a fast, wild ride down. The only problem is that it can be crowded and you may end up bumping into other people as the rapids pull you onwards.”
