1 / 2Woodgate Valley Country Park
📍 Bartley Green, West Midlands
Country park in Bartley Green with a small farm, flat stream-side walking trails, and a children's playground. Pram-friendly paths throughout. No cafe or toilets on-site — bring your own food and drinks.
We adore it here with my little one (18 months). The farm is only £2 to enter with lots of lovely animals to see and feed if you want to, food for them just 50p a bag. If you don't fancy the farm the walk down and along the stream is lovely and flat so ideal for any age (there is a slight incline returning to the car park but is very scenic so can amble along). Play area for littles is also lovely.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with toddlers and young children who want a low-cost outdoor morning. The farm visit and stream walk cover about 1-2 hours comfortably. Families travelling more than 20 minutes for a day out may find the trail length modest — it suits local regulars best. Bring your own snacks and plan toilet stops before you arrive.

“Overall, it's a quaint and nice country park for walking and cycling. As is visible in the photos, there is a lush field area with horses, followed by a split path through a more densely wooded set of trails. It was a short but pleasant walk. Unfortunately the visitors centre seems to be temporarily closed when I visited. The trails are quite short, so it is more of a nice area for walking pets or light activity. Therefore, it's much less suitable for hiking and more intense trail enthusiasts. To summarise (despite the lack of the visitor centre), it was a short but enjoyable walk with some nice aesthetic points that kept me busy for a few hours. It's definitely worth a visit if it's a nice day and you're local to the area, but probably not worth travelling vast distances to experience.”

“A short walk from the large car park and you'll find this charming little farm. Only £2 entrance fee and 50p for anilmal feed. Very helpful staff, especially with regards to children with additional needs. Chicken and duck eggs can be bought here. There's plenty of trails for walkers if you don't visit the farm, and a small playground for children.”

“Lovely park with nice long bridal and foot paths. No toilets or food facilities. Information around park about conservation and local geology. Dog friendly, a couple of bins for waste. Dogs often get wet from the mostly shallow brook running through park. Children's playground and horse riding school on site. Large car park.”
