1 / 3Beckenham Place Park
π Beckenham, Greater London
Expansive former golf course spanning 96 hectares with a natural swimming lake, playgrounds, BMX and skate park, woodland trails, and a mansion house with cafe and vintage shop. Open 24 hours.
A Beautiful undulating Mature Woodland park & former public Golf course (I used to play here). Natural swimming lake, picnic facilities, trails, kids playground. Great spot for all the family or a cycle & walk. Highly recommended. π₯°
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with older children and teenagers who can handle longer woodland walks and want access to active facilities beyond a standard playground. The swimming lake requires advance online booking.

βThis large green space on Beckenham Hill was formerly a council run golf course, but is now a large open space for walking or just taking in the tranquility. The park offers a bar and open air swimming lake.β

βMy first visit here,we came for a day out and a bit of a walk. A really beautiful place located just north of the centre of Beckenham, just a short walk. Lots of history to the place. Brilliant place to bring your dogs for walk.Besides the woodland, fields and nice scenery there's also a bar in the main mansion house (with toilets),a little vintage shop (in the mansion), separate family cafe with outdoor seating (and more toilets), separate bar, pet shop, a gift shop, children's play area,a flower garden and a pond where you can swim (but you need to book online in advance). When we went they also had a little selection of artisan food stalls located behind the mansion house, not sure how often this happens. Overall a great day out and definitely worth a visit.β

βThis park is a wonderful place to visit, especially if you have a dog. You can easily spend a couple of hours walking around the entire area, depending on your pace. Along the way, youβll hear birds singing and enjoy the peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. The park is dog-friendly, and everyone you meet is warm and welcoming. Each part of the park has its own unique charm, with different landscapes and sights to enjoy. There are also play areas for kids, and a lively market that takes place regularly. Theyβre currently building an ice skating area, which will make the park even more enjoyable in the winter season. Overall, itβs a beautiful, friendly, and peaceful spot β perfect for a walk, some fresh air, and a bit of nature.β
