1 / 2Boulder Central - Indoor Climbing
📍 West Bromwich, West Midlands
Indoor bouldering centre in West Bromwich with beginner-friendly routes, weekly resets, kids climbing clubs, and a Moonboard training system. No booking required for day sessions; online registration needed for first visit.
First session here. Filled out a registration form online, and booked my session online with 45mins notice. Carpark is small but no issue getting a space, staff were excellent, friendly and efficient. Coronavirus precautions are sensible and nicely laid out. The building is bright and inviting, mats and walls clean too. The walls have a great mix of grades, and the grades have a variety of different hold types. As a novice my grip lets me down most, but I found plenty of problems within my range. Impressive amount of kid friendly problems too, will definitely bring the little one in the future! Coffee was excellent and the pizza looked great too. Finally the rental shoes were in good nick but quite slippy on the wall. All in all I'll definitely be back!
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families wanting to introduce children to bouldering in a community-focused, low-pressure environment. The weekly route resets make regular visits worthwhile, and the beginner-friendly grading means children and adults progress together.

“This has become my local gym for the last 6 months. The staff are all very friendly as are the regular climbers that I’ve met here. As usual everyone is very encouraging and welcoming which is typical of the climbing community. The routes are often interesting and the beta isn’t always obvious which adds to the satisfaction of working a problem. There’s a good range of climbs from slabs to a large overhang wall and even a platform to top out on which is always fun. I also love the music. My only complaint is that it doesn’t open earlier during the week (I work evenings).”
