CanaryWall Climbing Centre
📍 London, Greater London
Indoor bouldering centre under the railway at Westferry DLR, open to ages 14 and up. No ropes — crash mats throughout. Bouldering Basics hour-long classes available. Café with WiFi, mini gym, yoga studio, and step-free access to all climbing areas.
My first time bouldering and I had a very good experience at the CanaryWall. The place is located underneath the railway at Westferry and is more spacious that it seems on the inside. Having a total of 8 spaces for climbing with a wide variety of difficulty, inside, outdoors & an additional room outside the space (ask for guidance). They offer discounts to students as well as multiple visits. You may pay, enter and exit anytime you wish which is suitable for a quick lunch break or if you'd like to come back in the evening. The opening times are quite long, until 11pm on weekdays! You'd spend your money's worth. I came to spend over 4 hours here and there seems to be more to do. They have a mini shop space, cafe/eat in, chill, gym space and showers. The loveliest addition are from the events that the CanaryWall team hold every week - displayed on their chalk board. From celebrations to games and a lively atmosphere with music, you will not be bored to visit!
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children aged 14 and up who want to try bouldering without committing to a full harness-and-rope setup. The one-off registration and session fee covers as long as you want to stay — no hourly pressure. Staff have been noted for exceptional care in difficult moments.

“Brilliant space with a variety of routes and free climbing levels. Went with a friend on a Friday and it wasn’t busy at all! Everyone was friendly and as a beginner I did not feel intimidated or embarrassed! Learned about the V levels and got to V1 with some cheers from fellow climbers. Pay for a session and stay as long as you want x also had a mini gym and a yoga studio on top! Great spot for a fit second date, a friendship hang, or a solo climb x € £25 for a first time climb and shoe rental and registration”

“Whilst we didn't use the climbing facilities, I stopped here due to having a panic attack whilst out with my sons, the staff were incredibly caring and helpful. They showed my sons around the facilities, so I could take time to get myself together. I can't thank them enough for their help today, especially the four legged staff member.”

“Small but cool boulder gym, routes are good from what I’ve seen, I’m not sure how does it operate during winter but now in summer it’s perfect! Coffee was very good so I recomend a cup before the session ;) Staff was very helpful and friendly! If you guys ever stop in Zagreb, see you in Fothia gym, cheers 💪🏻”
