π Family Action Verdict
A strong multi-generational day out for families with children of all ages. Train-obsessed toddlers get two railway experiences; older children and adults get the scenic countryside journey and the long tunnel. Covered facilities mean rain does not derail the day. Dogs are welcome throughout.

βPerfect for kids, adults and four legged friends. Recommendations - bring some additional snacks. Pizza place is popular so would recommend buying it early Free face painting, bubble magician and amusements was a nice touch. 1 of the stalls you did have to pay extra for. It does get busier throughout the day but was well organised. Overall plenty to do to tire out those little legs. Will definitely come back for another themed event.β

Overview
Kirklees Light Railway runs a 15-inch narrow gauge line through West Yorkshire countryside, with a tunnel reviewers describe as the longest on any narrow gauge railway. Beyond the train ride, the site includes The Clayton Flyer miniature railway, outdoor playgrounds, a jumping pillow with covered area, The Cabin toy room, crazy golf, pedal cars, cafes at both stations, and birthday party facilities.
