Natural playground featuring logs, zip line, tyre swing, and traditional swings set among trees and woodchip. The wider Cannon Hill Park offers swan boats, MAC arts centre, a vintage cinema, and cafés for extended family days.

Stunning nature

🏆 Family Action Verdict

Best for families who prefer natural, low-tech play over modern safety-surface playgrounds. Children aged 4 and up will get the most from the zip line and climbing logs, and the surrounding park extends the day well beyond the play area itself.

Such a beautiful place with lots to do. Swan boats on the Lake, the MAC for the arts and even an old fashioned cinema. Plenty of food and drink spots, a small fair, parks and just beautiful walks. Perfect for everyone.

Further away from the main play area but it has a more natural feel with logs and wood chips. Has a zip line and a tyre swing with a few other playground swings. Nice big rocks to sit on and a lot of tree lined grass for picnics close to the play area.

Overview

The play area at Cannon Hill Park uses natural materials—logs, woodchip surfacing, tyre swing, zip line, and climbing swings—creating a forest-feel setting within one of Birmingham's most loved parks. Large rocks double as seating for supervising adults. Beyond the playground, the park holds a lake with swan boats, the MAC arts and cinema venue, food outlets, and a small fairground, making it one of the more complete free park destinations in the city.
