1 / 3Chadderton Sports Centre
đ Oldham, North West
Chadderton Wellbeing Centre has a seven-lane 25m pool with spectator seating, 45-station Technogym gym, sauna, and 50+ weekly fitness classes. Children's swimming lessons and lane swimming available. Membership required for access.
I am a member and attend one of the classes here. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful along with being friendly. The gym and conditioning suite are both well equipped. The pool is good but you are best to find out the timetable for swimming as there are lots of different classes so choosing the right time to visit is essential as if you just turn up you may be disappointed. The atmosphere is good, with a welcoming attitude towards everyone.
đ Family Action Verdict
Best for families with a regular membership who can plan sessions around the class-heavy timetable. The swimming lessons are well-taught and the gym is well-equipped. Occasional pool closures due to incidents during lessons are a recurring issue â families relying on consistent lesson attendance should factor this in.

âI have been a member for many years. The staff are always helpful and friendly. The build has been in use now for several years so compared with more modern buildings it may appear a little worn the equipment is up to date. Sadly there used to be a cafe which lent an air of a community centre but this was closed last year.â

Overview
The facility runs a seven-lane 25m pool with a spectator area, a 45-station gym stocked with Technogym equipment, sauna, and over 50 group fitness classes weekly. Children's swimming lessons are offered across age groups with well-regarded teaching staff. The pool timetable is class-heavy so public swim windows are sparse â checking before visiting is essential. No cafe currently on site. Changing rooms are showing age and have been flagged as needing refurbishment.
