Private members sports centre with a 25m pool heated to 29°C, 40-station Technogym fitness room, badminton, squash, and indoor tennis courts. Staff offer strong support for children with additional needs including BSL.
Joined after being a member of various PureGyms and university gyms in the past. I will not be looking back. Not only are the staff incredible, but to have a pool, indoor badminton, squash, indoor and outdoor tennis AND an uncrowded gym (for now) in the price makes it second to none. Unlike the gyms of my past the staff are friendly and warm and will go out their way to make your experience grand. To all Puregym/ Anytime Fitness-esque gym members, you may pay a tiny bit more for this but you get so much more for your money. 10/10

Best for families who want a full-facility sports membership with strong pastoral care in swimming lessons. Particularly strong for children with additional needs — BSL support is actively provided. Older gym equipment on some stations is a minor trade-off for the breadth of facilities.

“CCSC is a private members gym that fits in around the school timetable. There are good facilities for cardio, resistance plus strength & conditioning and swimming. Some of the equipment is aging and suffers from lack of maintenance which is a shame as this could be easily rectified. Opening hours in recent years have become more restrictive causing congestion at peak times. Staff are friendly and there is generally a good atmosphere in the gym. Improvements could be made if management took a more proactive approach to members. On balance it remains a great place to exercise and good value for money.”

“Great gym with three rowing machines, treadmills, exercise bikes and more. A weight room and a small area with matts for stretching/bodyweight exercises. Only flaw is that the pull-up bar is too close to the ceiling, making it impossible to attempt muscle-ups”
