1 / 3David Weir Leisure Centre
📍 Carshalton, Greater London
Community leisure centre with a 25m pool, soft play, indoor athletics track with jump pits and throwing cages, gym, and group fitness studio. Cashless payments throughout. On-site cafe and full pram access.
Beautiful room (second floor Motmot no 215) in a lovely hotel. Great location : feels like your in the middle of a big reserve but actually you're just 10 minute stroll to Santa, Elena town. The breakfast was beautiful, nice to have full service not buffet. As with the whole of Costa Rica the service was excellent : knowledgeable and friendly staff in all roles
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children who swim or are interested in athletics — the track and structured junior sessions set this apart from standard leisure centres. Toddlers get a quieter, cheaper soft play than most competitors. Parents who drive should treat the car park as a gamble and have a backup transport plan ready.

“5 out of 10 times I visited the gym I wasn't able to find parking. When you join the gym, you get a free personal trainer tester. If you do not intend hiring them, then I wouldn’t recommend booking this session, because the personal trainer was very pushy to book him, made me very uncomfortable which put me off visiting the gym altogether. Also, there were non replenished sanitisers in parts of the gym. Not good for hygiene.”

Overview
David Weir Leisure Centre packs swimming pools, soft play, a state-of-the-art gym, group fitness studio, and a full indoor athletics track — including running lanes, jump pits, and throwing cages — into one south London site. Gymnastics, junior athletics, and table tennis sessions run regularly. The cafe and accessible facilities make it workable for full family days. Parking is the persistent weak point: the car park fills fast and five visits out of ten may leave you circling.
