Outdoor go-kart track near Tamworth with 4-stroke and 2-stroke karts, family endurance races, and race-day organisation praised for handling 30-plus drivers smoothly. Suitable from age 6. Balaclavas required under helmets.
We had an absolutely amazing time at Daytona Tamworth! This was our first time racing in heavy rain, and wow, what an experience! The speed, the roar of the engines, the skidding across wet puddlesβ¦ pure fun and adrenaline. On arrival, the atmosphere was already positive. We were given a QR code to create an account and fill out consent forms. One tip: if youβre claiming the 15% student discount, it only applies per student so if youβre paying for four people, theyβll only discount the one student ticket unless everyone has a valid student card (which you need to physically show at check-in). We were given all-in-one race suits β a bit on the sweaty side, but the staff were great about swapping sizes when needed. The safety briefing before the race was spot on: clear, concise, and covered all the essential doβs and donβts. Helmets were handed out on the way to the track. Just note youβll need a balaclava (either bring your own or buy one there for Β£5). Gloves are provided. Before starting, they checked our names and allocated karts. The track is well-organised, and the team kept everything running smoothly. At the end we got a surprise a mix of hail and heavy rain in the last two laps! We were soaked, sitting in puddles in the seats, but honestly, driving a water-filled track just made it even more exhilarating. The karts themselves were a little worn but still performed well. Compared to others Iβve tried, the steering felt stiffer and more forceful to navigate, but after the 10-minute practice session, we got the hang of it before the main 20-minute race. Overall, yes, itβs a little on the pricey side but the track length, open-air setting, and the sheer fun factor make it worth it. Many thanks to the Daytona Tamworth team for keeping things safe while letting us have maximum fun. Highly recommend!
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children aged 6 and up who want an authentic outdoor racing experience rather than indoor leisure karting. The track quality and professional event format stand out clearly from indoor competitors. Wet-weather sessions are part of the experience β rain adds sliding and drama that many reviewers enjoy.

βReally enjoyable track. Had a great time here. Feel they could be more competitive on pricing. The 4 stroke karts are not that great in terms of value for money compared to other venues. Understandably the 2 stroke karts will cost more to run. Would love to go again but not sure I can justify the price when you can go to huge indoor tracks like Warrington for half the price now. If they did special deals from time to time I'd definitely go again with friendsβ

βWe have been to various tracks around the country and this was first rate! It was very busy with 30 racers on the track, however the organisation was great and seemed very professional. The racer really enjoyed driving the track and there was tables and chairs provided for spectators. Highly recommended!β
