1 / 2Dollan Aqua Centre
📍 East Kilbride, Central Scotland
Dollan Aqua Centre in East Kilbride offers warm water pools with good changing facilities, swimming lessons, and fitness classes. A free skatepark sits at the rear of the building for older children.
Today I had a very kind and memorable experience at Aqua Center in Escobrait around 6:15 PM, and I would like to sincerely thank the receptionist for her wonderful attitude and support. I arrived at 6:15 PM with my daughter, but the swimming session was not ready yet, so I had to wait for about one hour until the pool was fully prepared. At first, she kindly suggested that I come back later. I explained to her that I could not leave because I didn’t have a car or any place to go and wait outside, especially since it was cold. She immediately showed great understanding and told me to stay and sit in the reception area. She was extremely polite, respectful, and caring. She brought me a cup of hot tea with a lovely taste and also gave chocolate to both me and my daughter. Her kindness, empathy, and professional behavior truly made a big difference for us. She turned a difficult waiting situation into a warm and comfortable experience. I really appreciate her beautiful manners and excellent customer service. Thank you so much for making us feel welcome and cared for. The name of the receptionist is Lorraine Redbond.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Families with young children benefit most from the warm water, which is well-suited to toddlers and children building water confidence. The free skatepark provides an alternative for older children on days when the pool is hosting a gala.

“We were at the skatepark at the back of the building not the actual swimming. Good free skatepark wee bit for parking at the side and lights and camera's watching over. Wasn't too busy due to weather but daughter and friend are only learning so they prefer it that way. Need to find info on more of the free concrete skateparks as I can't find them on google maps. Handy wee place for free laughs and injuries.”

“This is an old school swimming pool, with plenty lockers and changing rooms. The admission price is not too steep and the price for parking is more than reasonable, too. Altogether, if you're after a leisurely swim (in a very warm water!) then this place is really good for it. Also, a warm water is very good for children. Recommend.”

“Yet again this place has a swimming gala on and the residents are left to deal with the consequences of insufficient parking. Visitors are again parking on what are permitted parking only streets, leaving the actual residents with no where to park. This happens several times a year while the leisure centre and the council do nothing to remedy it, leaving the people that actually live here with the headache.”
