Extraordinary Golf
đ Stoke-on-Trent, North West
Two 9-hole outdoor mini golf courses themed around Alton Towers rides including The Smiler, Wicker Man, and Nemesis. Complimentary for Resort Hotel guests. Challenging design suits older children and adults more than younger players.
Went this morning because it was included with our hotel stay. Last time we did this was before COVID, so ages ago. We weren't fussed about it but decided to anyway. It's very well kept. Has some fantastic effects and ended up being such a laugh. I'd even pay to do this again, especially if it's quiet. Well worth it.
đ Family Action Verdict
Best experienced as part of an Alton Towers hotel stay, where access is included in the package. The theming is creative and detailed, with ride stats adding interest for older children who know the coasters.

âExtraordinary Golf is based near Splash Landings in the Alton Towers resort. Pricing is great. Food may be available nearby but not at Extraordinary golf itself. Whilst the mini golf course is in some need of repair, it is a good course, reflecting the rides at Alton Towers. You can choose between 9 or 18 holes. Great for Adults and Children. Parking available but good luck finding a space nearby. In general we were happy with the visit :)â

âThis was free with the hotel but unfortunately the course was not amazing. There were many very hard holes that were not enjoyable especially as the course is designed for kids. The designs were very creative though, and they were themed around the rides. There was lots of queueing as there are two different 9 hole courses. This is probably because of the immense difficulty of the holes holding people up. Also the putters were very light and hard to use. Lastly, the ball always rolls off the course because there are not many barriers around each hole.â

âA fun course but a little run down in places. Holes 10-18 are the better set. Nice to have the stats regarding the history of each rollercoaster the holes are themed after.â
