Halton Miniature Railway
📍 Palacefields, North West
7¼ inch gauge miniature railway operating since 1979, offering free 10-minute rides through Town Park hauled by steam, petrol, or electric locomotives. Adjacent play area and nearby refreshments at the ski centre.
Excellent place for the kids and train lovers. The guys running the trains are also great and friendly. I can’t believe is run only on tips. A must place to bring the kids. 5*
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families with train-loving toddlers and primary school age children seeking a nostalgic, low-cost outdoor outing. The near-mile track through the park is genuinely impressive for a volunteer-run line. Combine with the adjacent play area for a longer visit.
