Open Edinburgh playground with ziplines, climbing structures, slides, and swings for all ages. Free entry and available parking are genuine pluses. Council maintenance has been slow to address broken equipment and litter.

Good clean and safe play park. Lots of climbing opportunities, zipline swings and slides.

🏆 Family Action Verdict

Best for families who want varied adventurous equipment and can tolerate a rougher-edged environment. The ziplines and climbing are genuinely engaging for children aged 4 and up. Check equipment is accessible before visiting — the council has a pattern of blocking off broken items rather than repairing them.

â„šī¸ What to Know Before You Go

💡Check before visiting that the equipment you want is not blocked off for unfinished repairs
⏰Bring hand sanitiser and inspect the ground before letting young children explore freely
đŸŽŸī¸Parking is available on site — genuinely useful for Edinburgh
🚗Bins overflow regularly; bring a bag for your own rubbish on busy days

“really good but it annoys me like crazy. its the second time i have noticed that something breaks and the council instead of fixing it just blocks access to it. like here there was this fun chain bridge which is not there anymore...plus always a lot of litter everywhere. really sad to see people not caring for their environment at all...but the bins also overflow on regular basis so councils fault as well...”

“Park very dirty bins overflowing and condoms o the floor. Pity because there has been thought in some of the apparatus and there is parking which is gold dust nowadays. If it was clean it is an awesome space.”

Overview

Inch Park Play Area offers a varied equipment set including ziplines, climbing structures, slides, and swings within an open green space. Parking is available — a rarity for Edinburgh playgrounds. Free entry and pram-accessible paths add to the practical appeal. The site suffers from overflowing bins, litter, and council slowness to repair broken features, with at least one chain bridge removed rather than fixed.
