A gorgeous venue, we had our wedding reception there and the staff were so lovely and helpful.

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Best for families with nature-curious children who enjoy unhurried outdoor exploration rather than structured activities. The guided walks are genuinely educational when available, and autumn in particular is a standout time to visit for blackberry picking and woodland colour. The cafe is a strong draw in its own right.

β€œThis natural area is within the city 10 min drive. The discovery centre has periodically events and tour through the woods. What I like is that all the staff is nice and that they are inclusive when it comes to the events. I went to the fungi walk tour and I learned a lot since experts were with us during the tour. They also have bird and olant tours.”

β€œYou need to go for a walk just so you can end it with that Guinness cake.. THAT GUINNESS CAKE!!!! I think it has take the rightful place as the best cake I have ever eaten. Also the savoury food and choice of delicious drinks were also top notch. Now to spend the rest of my days dreaming of this cake and it's magnificence.”

β€œPerfect setting for an early Autumn walk. Note the leaves on the map! Gorgeous sunlight filtering throught the trees. Blackberries ripe for picking. Birdsong clear and calming away from traffic noise I'd forgotten how wonderful the woods are”
