đ Aldershot, Greater London
Part of the Blackwater Valley path system, this nature reserve offers buggy-friendly trails through lakes, wet meadows, heathland, and woodland. Playground equipment suits older children. Free parking on site.
A lovely place for a walk, great for bikers, buggies peaks and wheelchair friendly tracks criss cross this charming nature reserve. Devoid of litter and bristling with a wide variety of wetland birds. There is a real diversity of habitats in and around the old gravel pits.A spacious car park and play area for the families. It really is a well placed area to connect with nature.
đ Family Action Verdict
Best for families with older children aged 8+ who want a genuine nature walk with varied habitats and wildlife. The buggy-friendly main paths work well for families pushing younger siblings as older children range ahead. Dog owners will find open, off-leash-friendly stretches throughout.

âI walked all the way from Thorneycroft Wood and Dragon's teeth to here, it was very muddy so I would recommend boots for the journey. I went on those wooden planks in the Riverside. I went back in reverse after exploring the lakes. It is lovely to see the lake sparkle at night.â
