1 / 2Marshall Street Leisure Centre and Spa
π London, Greater London
Historic 1930s leisure centre in central London with a 30m marble-floored pool, gym, hot yoga, aqua fitness, and swimming lessons. Lift access to all floors and dedicated accessibility features including pool hoists.
Great pool, I go on weekday evenings and although its busy you can still get a good swim session in. Also I feel the centre has got the right balance of ensuring that swimclubs/lessons dont take over the pool my local swim in Glassmills lewisham does a terrible job at this. Lockers are bring your own padlock which is helpful as well
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families seeking central London swimming with a reliable lane-to-lesson balance. Weekday evenings are praised for remaining usable even when busy. The venue has had inconsistent entry enforcement reported by some members β confirming current access policies before enrolling for a recurring membership is advisable. No on-site parking.

βI visited Marshall Street Leisure Centre for a swim, and I must say itβs one of the most disappointing pools Iβve encountered. Firstly, the shape and depth of the pool are problematic-the shallowest part is just 0.90 meters, which makes it difficult to swim comfortably if you're tall, as your hands constantly touch the floor. While that may be hard to change structurally, the cleanliness is something that absolutely can be addressed. Unfortunately, the cleaning appears to be minimal to nonexistent. Thereβs visible rust along the walls and at the bottom of the pool, which is quite concerning. Iβm genuinely surprised to see this level of neglect in a facility located in the heart of London.β

βDo you really want to go to a gym where people are using it to dye their hair? Very shady contracts, not explained up front and often very dirty inside with people leaving underwear and other cloths in the changing rooms. Just underwent a renovation but you canβt tell the difference other than being forced out of the shower area and having to all use the swimming pool side. Only + side is that itβs fairly well priced. As I have allotted money right now Iβll have to stay here but when Iβm Back on track Iβll join a respectable gym.β
