Best for families with children aged 3 and up seeking a free, interactive day in Greenwich. AHOY! gallery engages children under 7 most strongly β book its free weekend tickets online in advance as slots sell out. Older children and adults respond well to the Ocean Map and navigation history galleries.

βI went there with my 2 sons on 9 Jan 2026 and joined the guided tour. It was very informative and entertaining. Love the place. All the items are properly spaced and lit up. Not crowded at all. All the tourists have left and kids are back at school.β

βVery interesting Museum with rotating displays and some standard ones. My favourite part was the map of the ocean, it gives an interesting perspective on the globe in a new way! Stiff for kids and adults, go enjoy and maybe learn!β

Overview
The museum's free galleries trace maritime exploration, naval history, and global seafaring across multiple halls. The AHOY! children's gallery requires separate free timed tickets on weekends. The Cove outdoor playground uses a sea theme for structured physical play. The Ocean Map reframes global geography with a floor-level perspective. Rotating exhibitions include Astronomy Photographer of the Year. Two on-site cafes serve the site.
