1 / 2Newton Park
đ Altrincham, North West
Compact park featuring adult-height monkey bars, pull-up and dip bars, a five-a-side pitch, climbing apparatus, and a small stream with climbable trees and wild garlic. Equipment spans young children through to adults.
Finally found a playground with monkey bars! This is a small but lovely little park with climbing apparatus for young kids up to adults. There are pull up bars, dip bars and the monkey bars are full adult height so your kids will likely need a leg up. The five a side pitch has little goals more suitable for kids.
đ Family Action Verdict
Best for families with school-age children who want a genuine physical challenge beyond typical playground kit. Older kids can tackle the full-height monkey bars and pull-up bars unaided, and the stream adds natural discovery play. Younger children will need hands-on help with the taller structures.

âThis is a nice park, recently spruced up by TCV and Friends of the park. Lovely building sat there derelict due to a myopic local council. PS. Kids - stop using it as a 'sesh den' ta very much!â

âUsed this park for a long time now, it's absolutely great for people of all ages, fields and play equipment is safe, exercise equipment is also well kept and handy too. Only problems are the goal posts are very small so I'd advise a different park for football if possible and some of the playground flooring can be a little slippy when wet however it's bouncy so injuries are very unlikely.â

âNice little park with adventure play area and football pitch. Also has a small stream and tress suitable for climbing. You can usually find wild garlic growing down on the banks of the stream.â

Overview
Newton Park packs adult-height monkey bars, pull-up bars, dip bars, and climbing frames into a small footprint alongside a five-a-side pitch with small goals and a stream bank lined with climbable trees and seasonal wild garlic. The park has been refreshed by TCV and Friends of the Park. Equipment suits school-age children independently; younger kids will need a leg up on the monkey bars. Flooring can be slippery after rain.
