1 / 2Peckham Pulse Leisure Centre
📍 London, Greater London
Peckham Pulse combines an adult-height softplay with climbing wall, a 25m six-lane pool, hydrotherapy pool, and two-floor gym with TechnoGym equipment. Swimming lessons available for all ages.
I’ve really enjoyed taking Tai Chi with Michael, who has been covering Tai Chi classes at Dulwich Leisure Centre this month. He begins each session with calming Qigong exercises before guiding us through the meditative 24 Short Form (Yang style). He’s also introduced us to the 8 Form and other styles, all delivered with clear instruction and the confidence of someone qualified to teach at multiple levels. Michael has a calm, personable manner that makes the class welcoming for beginners while still engaging for those with more experience. It would be fantastic to see a similar offering at Peckham Leisure Centre. In these increasingly stressful times, it would be wonderful for Peckham locals to have access to the bit of zen and well-being that Michael brings to every session. Highly recommended.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families who want swimming and active play in one visit. The adult-height softplay design means parents can follow children without discomfort. Families with babies benefit from toddler-friendly zones; older children gravitate to the climbing wall. The hydrotherapy pool suits parents with back notes.

“Great softplay, especially for the price! What was really good is that all the areas are adult height so you dont have to break your back going around, except the ball pit which you crawl into. All really spacious and many different areas to explore. Really impressed there was a wall for climbing. Definitely worth a visit and even to be a regular. Just bear in mind that the floor is very cold, so make sure you have warm socks if not doubled up.”

“Great staff, very accommodating and friendly. Hydropool and main pool could be a bit hotter at times but some people like it cooler so you can't please everyone. Shannon is absolutely brilliant and is on top of everything, the hydropool is always hot when she is around which helps with my back problems, when she is on shift, she is on top of everything and you can count on things to be tip top shape. Never a dull moment.”

“Very good Southwark Council leisure centre at Peckham Pulse. I was there to try out the newly refurbished gym. But the Centre also has a great swimming pool. The newly refitted gym is light and airy and has all the latest equipment from Pulse Fitness. Very friendly and helpful staff.”

Overview
The softplay features adult-height sections throughout — only the ball pit requires crawling — plus a dedicated climbing wall, unusual for softplay venues. The 25m pool runs six lanes alongside a hydrotherapy pool, sauna, and steam room. Three studio fitness classes and a fully equipped gym with Pulse Fitness machines complete the offer. Southwark Council-operated.
