More little playgrounds like this please! Imagination clearly went into its design and fun is the output. You can’t help but notice: the slide with a striking pointy housing (topped with a cross between a Harry Potter Snitch and the Bat symbol); the wobbly stairs and ropes joining the slide to a climbing thing; and the chairs that seem to just sit in the air. There are palm trees - because why not - multiple flower beds with an hilariously faded ceiling until sign asking parents to stop kids from walking on the flowers (you put a flower bed in a kids playground!), and an odd metal walkway/bin. All the paths are curved in different, interesting ways, etc. There are kids swings, a baby swings a balance see-saw kind of thing but not much for little kids. Though there is a kind of hobbit-hole at their level and everything being on mounds adds to the fun. While a relatively exposed playground with a road on one side, pedestrian/bike lane on another, open park entry, it still has its own space and doesn’t feel unsafe. Oddly, it sits next to an adventure playground that also looks enticing. There isn’t much seating for parents - ironic given the rest of the park, but there are walls which work well enough. Definitely worth a visit and a place to spend half an hour or more.

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Best for families with children aged 2–8 who want an imaginatively designed playground in central London. The creative equipment holds attention longer than standard playground layouts. Combine with Exmouth Market for a full outing. Visit on weekday mornings for the most comfortable experience β€” peak times draw large crowds to the compact space.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

πŸ’‘Combine with a trip to Exmouth Market β€” it's a short walk and offers good food options
⏰Visit on weekday mornings for a quieter experience β€” the playground gets very busy at weekends
🎟️Water fountain play feature has been reported as non-functional β€” check before relying on it
πŸš—The rubber flooring is lifting in places β€” worth watching underfoot with very young children

β€œGreat mid sized playground surrounded by park space. It is fun for various ages, small kids to older ones of c. 7-8 years old. Can get very busy at times. But when it is not, there is plenty to do for an hour or two. It is also around the corner from Exmouth market if you want to have a bite or spa fields park itself if you want a pic nic in the summer.”

β€œVery different playground, even younger ones enjoy the hills, tunnel and a baby swing, for older great stuff to climb. Love the palm trees.”

β€œNice cute playground. It was very convenient and closed to the Postal Museum. It has everything a little kid would need to be entertained β˜ΊοΈβ€
