Come here quite alot in the week as the cafe run by volunteers is only open weekdays till about 2pm. The cafe is run by very friendly staff and is part of a way for young adults with additional needs to gain skills and experience by helping with different around the cafe and site. The walks around the Three Sisters is always a nice one away from the roads. Definitely worth a visit for people who walk dogs and if you just want a safe place to walk with children and get them into nature.

🏆 Family Action Verdict

Best for families who enjoy outdoor walks with wildlife spotting and want a safe, road-free environment for children. Multiple walking routes mean repeat visits feel different. The volunteer cafe adds a community warmth on weekdays. Avoid race days if a peaceful nature experience matters — the track noise carries across the reserve.

“Excellent walking area for all the family, playground for the children. Fishing at the side of the lake. Lovely big park with lots of paths to wander. Lovely all year around. Unfortunately the three sisters race track runs quite often and can be very noisy for the animals and people, though once passed, the animals have a lot more fun than people! Highly Recommended”

“Had a great day, lots of different walks, I'm going to go back in the spring and take a different route. Saw lots of wild life Including, deer and some buzzards. It was great for the dog too, she is exhausted.”

“Fantastic place to take dogs and kids out for a run. If you want a nice walk avoid going on race day as it can upset the tranquility of the woods.”
