1 / 2Whitehall Recreation Ground
đ Bromley, Greater London
Community park in Bromley with well-equipped playground, basketball nets, goal posts, volunteer-maintained flower beds, an orchard, and designated off-leash dog areas. Free entry, outdoor spaces for all ages.
A very pleasant park with something for everyone. It is well planted with bulbs, trees, and shrubs and areas of grass for sports and doggy walkers. There is an excellent well equipped children's playground, and also some general exercise equipment. There are paths around the park and plenty of benches throughout.
đ Family Action Verdict
Best for local Bromley families wanting a free, varied outdoor space for children of different ages. Active older children get the sports facilities; younger kids use the playground; adults enjoy the gardens and walking paths. The community-maintained planting gives the park genuine seasonal character.

âPopular haunt of both David Bowie and Hanif Kureishi, author of Buddha of Suburbia. Both were locals here as kids and loved the park so much they filmed an interview with them both here when they launched the TV series back in the 90s. Great for walks, and a nice playground for kids.â

âWhitehall Recreation Ground is a great local park in Bromley that embodies a strong sense of community. The park provides an excellent green space for relaxation, sports, and dog walking, complete with a designated off-leash area. However, the children's playground has certainly seen better days and is in need of some attention. On a more positive note, the active community spirit is evident in the beautifully maintained flower beds, which are lovingly tended by local volunteers. The park's orchard, while a wonderful addition, has suffered from the activity of local scrumpers who often take the fruit before it has a chance to ripen. Despite this setback, the park remains a beloved hub where the dedication of residents is what truly makes the difference.â

âPretty good park. Not too much litter. Dog and the kids love it. Lovely to see locals enjoying the green and basic sports items (basket ball net and goal posts)â
