1 / 3Wilmslow Leisure Centre
📍 Wilmslow, North West
25m five-lane pool, learner pool, refurbished gym with cardio and resistance equipment, aquafit and fitness classes, badminton and squash courts, cafe, and birthday party packages. Lessons from age 3.
My husband and I have been members for over a year. He tends to use the gym which has been recently been refurbished and extended and I typically go to classes. As far as the gym goes it’s huge and superbly equipped and even when it gets busier at the weekend, there’s always plenty of equipment to use and advice on hand. I love the variety of classes and number of classes. The booking system is easy to use online and you can book a week ahead. The variety of classes and friendliness and experience of the majority of the instructors is excellent. I don’t think I’ve ever had a class cancelled if an instructor has unexpectedly been ill, for example. They’ve always seem to cover things. I can’t comment on the changing rooms or pool as we never use those. Parking is free for gym members and you can use any of the other everybody gyms once you become a member, except for Alderley Park which has a higher rating. In short, it’s an absolutely brilliant leisure centre and great value for money. It’s very convenient in terms of location. The only downsides are that parking can be especially busy on weekends when there are often things going on in the main hall and that for my particular interest, I could do with more Pilates classes, as the classes of around 30 literally tend to get booked up within a couple of hours of the class being released a week ahead.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families where one parent wants structured gym and class access as children use the pool or lessons. The gym is genuinely excellent post-refurbishment and the class variety is strong. Changing rooms are the weak link — particularly for babies and toddlers, where cold temperatures post-swim are a real concern.

“I'm a frequent goer at Everybody Wilmslow and whilst I think the gym's fine, I find the staff - particularly the young ones to have no social etiquette. They don't make an effort to greet you, instead most the time are talking all together and simply glance up then back down as you walk in. I think this is a crucial aspect that is sadly declining in today's society - especially for a gym that wants to have a sense of community.”

“The leisure centre is generally very dated. The changing rooms and toilets really could do with a deep clean and revamp. For the price you pay for your membership, you would expect a better level of cleanliness. The gym has some good equipment, but the main problem is the scores of unsupervised kids hogging equipment and in some cases acting in an unsafe manner. I recommend using the gym first thing in the morning or during school hours to avoid this. The online booking system on the app for the sports courts is a bit of a joke. You select a specific court number only to turn up and find it's not set up for your sport, or there are people using the court you booked. The only advice the staff can give is "just use whichever court has been set up for your sport..." Ok, but what happens when someone else arrives who's booked the court you've had to move on to? The app shouldn't specify a court number if you don't necessarily get to use the court number you request. The centre has the potential to be a great facility but it seems as though it's generally been neglected over the years.”

Overview
Wilmslow Leisure Centre runs a 25m five-lane main pool and a learner pool, with swimming lessons starting at age 3. The gym floor was recently extended and refurbished with plentiful cardio and resistance equipment. Classes include aquafit, Pilates, and circuit training alongside specialist rehabilitation sessions. Changing rooms are dated, cold, and overdue for renovation — a baby's skin temperature concern was reported after a post-swim change.
