1 / 2Woburn Safari Park
📍 Bedford, Greater London
Drive-through reserves with unlimited circuits past lions, tigers, giraffes, elephants, rhinos, bears, and zebras. Foot safari adds walk-through enclosures, sea lions, penguins, and keeper talks.
Woburn Safari Park was a fantastic day out and really exceeded my expectations. From the moment we drove through the safari zones, it felt like a proper adventure — being able to see lions, giraffes, rhinos and elephants up close from the safety of your own car was genuinely exciting and something you don’t get to experience every day. The animals seemed well cared for and many were out and active during our visit, which made the whole drive‑through portion feel alive and engaging. The walk‑around sections were just as enjoyable. There were plenty of opportunities to see smaller animals and birds, and the enclosures were thoughtfully designed with informative signs that made learning about the species easy and interesting. The kids (and adults!) loved the meerkats and penguins — they were definitely crowd favourites. The whole experience felt relaxed and well‑organised, even when it was busy. It struck a great balance between being entertaining and educational, and we left feeling we’d had excellent value for the day. If you’re looking for an interactive, family‑friendly wildlife experience that’s a bit different from a traditional zoo, Woburn Safari Park is definitely worth a visit. Parking and Toilets: Parking at Woburn Safari Park was straightforward and conveniently located close to the main entrance, making it easy to start the day without any hassle. The on-site toilets were clean, well-maintained, and easily accessible throughout the park, which was particularly helpful for families with children. Overall, the facilities added to the convenience and comfort of the visit, making it a stress-free experience from start to finish.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best for families who want an active wildlife encounter that differs fundamentally from a standard zoo. The road safari delivers genuine excitement across all ages — seeing lions and elephants from inside your car at close range has an immediacy that enclosure-based viewing cannot replicate. The foot safari extends the day meaningfully.

“Took the grandkids. Despite the cold (Feb) plenty of the animals were in evidence and active. Able to pause and appreciate the animals we particularly wanted to view. Then parked up and Toured the attractions on foot. Plenty of picnic tables to eat at and we finished the day with a trip round the boating lake on a dragon boat (included in the entry price) all in all an enjoyable day especially for the children.”

“Went to do a morning feed experience and was blown away, park was shut so it was just us, the lovely animals and the amazing keepers. Got to feed some beautiful animals, met the most amazing huge lions, who knew they were that big? And Bob was so passionate and knowledgeable, blew any other trip to a zoo out the water.”

“One of the best experiences ever. Worth every penny. Recommend doing the Road Safari and then parking up for the Foot Safari. Dont park in the grass there is a carpark just outside the foot Safari. Lovely souvenir shop as well!”
