I was gifted an Alpaca walk for my 30th birthday off my partners family. When we got there Suzie was very informative and made us feel comfortable straight away. Suzie let us roam the farm and feed all the animals and we could get straight into the enclosures with them too! My favourite were the cheeky goats 🀣 It wasn’t busy when we went and Suzie was happy for us to take our time and what we thought was 10 minutes had passed it had been an hour! We were just having the best time. We went on our walk with the alpacas and explored the top field with Suzie. She was absolutely wonderful and we enjoyed chatting away about life and the animals too!! We cannot wait to come back because we honestly have had the best time. Thank you for such a wonderful experience 🀍

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

The best choice in the North West for families wanting a genuinely close animal encounter rather than a zoo-style viewing experience. Children from 19 months have been brought successfully β€” staff adapt the experience to the child's confidence level and age.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

πŸ’‘Wear waterproof boots β€” outdoor field areas get muddy, particularly after rain
⏰Weekday visits are quieter and allow longer time with individual animals
🎟️Staff will adapt the experience to your child's confidence level β€” let them know on arrival
πŸš—The indoor petting area runs alongside the outdoor field walk β€” useful as a warm-up for nervous children

β€œWe booked the petting experience for my friend’s birthday! We fed and pet so many animals, it made our day! Our favourites were the pygmy goats, the pigs, Bobby and George (alpacas) and Monty! We visited during the week so it wasn’t too busy. It was a rainy day but that didn’t get in the way of our excitement. We will definitely go back with our partners to do the same or the alpaca walk. Suzie was lovely, informative and helpful. I also sent a message with a question prior to our visit, this received a prompt response. Would definitely recommend!!”

β€œGreat idea for couples, family or friends, especially those animal lovers! I have been a few times in different seasons. The adventure starts with a little cute petting zoo indoors then you walk around to the other animals e.g pigs, reindeers in the outdoors feeding them all. The Alpacas, Donkeys and Pony are quite the cheeky bunch, they will follow you around for some treats if loose in their pen or the main field, even when you have fed them but it’s super cute and give you some entertainment.”

β€œSuch a lovely place out in the countryside! All the animals are super cute, we did the feeding experience and there were so friendly. We were walking around with the animals in the field, the alpacas and donkeys kept following us around with our food buckets 😍 they really showed their personalities. It was muddy, just a warning. We would definitely come back here”
