1 / 2Wrythe Recreation Ground
đ Sutton, Greater London
Wrythe Recreation Ground is a peaceful local park in Sutton with a small playground, open field for dogs, football facilities, and seasonal daffodil displays. Free entry with pram-accessible paths.
Great quiet park that's taken good care of. Perfect for any activities. There's also a playground within it for children.
đ Family Action Verdict
Best for local Sutton families with young children wanting a quiet, safe green space for a short outing. The open field suits families with dogs alongside children. The playground is too small to anchor a destination visit â plan it as part of a broader local walk rather than a standalone trip.

âA wonderful place where you feel closer to nature. a large field where you can walk your dogs and let them feel a little bit of freedom, but always under supervision, because there is a children's playground right next to it, so safety first is of all. The playground is a good place for children to socialize and meet new friends. Wrythe Recreation Ground is good also, because you can combine games with children and walks with four-legged friends. I would like to note that the equipment at playground there needs updating, and children need constant supervision, because foxes often walk nearby.â

âI grew up with this park right next to my high school so I spent a lot of time There. To be honest it's not that great. It's nice to have some green spaces in the area, but it's just a gated field, with a small play park in one corner. There are some old shelters from the war that are now mounds covered in grass. It's okay to dog walk, but it's small and I guess it's nice for small kids who are local.â

Overview
The park offers a gated open field alongside a corner playground with swings and basic equipment. Basketball and football areas are also on site. The playground is small â reviewed visits consistently last around 20-30 minutes before children are ready to move on. Old paint transfer from equipment has been flagged. Foxes are regularly seen in the area. Spring daffodils make the park noticeably more attractive for short visits between February and April.
