I love this theatre, and continue to support it. Yes, it is nothing too fancy, and bar is quite small, but staff are always so friendly, always a nice selection of films, including discounted ones for Members. Eg. i saw Peter Hujar's Day recently just for Β£3, I also get discounts on normal ticket due to membership, free tix, and slightly cheaper tix for Met Opera Live and NT Live. I have recently seen The Fifth Step with John Lowden and Martin Freeman, as part of Theatre Live, I wasn't able to get a ticket to IRL show, so it was so fab to be able to see this later, and it was fantastic too. So lucky to have such excellent local cinema, heartily recommend.

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Best for families who visit the cinema regularly and value a local, independent atmosphere over multiplex scale. Membership pays off quickly for frequent visitors. Bring drinks into screenings from the bar β€” hot food stays in the bar area. Toddler-accessible for pram users.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

πŸ’‘Membership is worth it for regular visitors β€” discounts apply to standard tickets and special screenings
⏰Drinks including wine can be taken into screens β€” grab something at the bar first
🎟️Hot food from the kitchen must be eaten in the bar before your film starts
πŸš—Screens can get cold β€” bring a light layer

β€œI got a soft spot for the Picturehouse cinemas! Members get some extra perks and generally they are nice places. What makes this one special is that the bar /food space is off the main road. A good selection of drinks and a tasty pizza menu are on offer. If you got a glass or two of vino left, it’s ok to take it into a film! Now just pick a flick and have fun!!!!”

β€œFab event - Mrs Harris goes to Paris with q&a! Really lovely .. good questions and great panel which made the discussion entertaining too The staff were friendly and helpful, I arrived just as it was starting and so grateful that I was spotted by one of the staff who weren't serving rather clearing up but sent me in the right direction. Even though some bits of the cinema looked like they'd seen better days it was cosy. I'd also cleverly followed directions to the loos by screens 1&2 as the people in front had headed to the main ones and I think there must have been a queue as someone was heading back our way as I was leaving. I was disappointed to not get to investigate their refreshments as I was so late but sat next to a couple with glasses of wine .. May have added to the disappointment!”

β€œAnother visit in new branch, this one is much smaller compare to the ones I've visited. They got lively central area with snacks and bar, my screen 4 provide many seats but screen is smaller than expected, sound quality wasn't up to the standard either. For some reason AC was on full, and it got cold inside, I was even wearing a hood, which is the first time when in any cinema. Still, good experience but needs a major upgrades.”
