1 / 3Diana Princess of Wales Memorial Playground
π London, Greater London
A spacious, well-kept Kensington Gardens playground built around a huge wooden pirate ship and Peter Pan theme, with a guarded entrance that lets parents relax. Free to enter, but expect it to get very busy.
We spent a wonderful afternoon at the Diana Memorial Playground during our Christmas trip. Itβs the best park for kids in London! Our children had so much fun playing on the huge wooden pirate ship and exploring the sensory trails. We loved that it's inspired by Peter Pan, it feels like a fairy tale. The park is very safe, clean, and the staff is great. Even in winter, the atmosphere is magical. A 10/10 experience for families.
π Family Action Verdict
If you've got young kids, this is a genuinely lovely spot - the pirate ship and Peter Pan theme make it feel like a proper day out, and parents felt relaxed thanks to the guarded entrance. It's free and stays clean even when packed, so it's an easy yes, just know it gets extremely busy.

βSecured place for kids with guard at the entrance. Extremely busy. We came here when my son was younger and let me say he is 5 now and we enjoyed it way more. I felt more relaxed. Such a lovely day today. We had ice cream. Lovely spacious clean toilet. Highly recommend!β

βVery big playground with a large variety of equipment for different ages, toilets are available, very convenient for parents. Free access with kids. A cafe is next to it, no need to worry if kids are hungry.β

Overview
The huge wooden pirate ship is the main event, with climbing frames, swings, sand areas and sensory trails spread across plenty of space for different ages. The guarded entrance means you can actually sit back a bit while the kids roam, and there are toilets and a cafe right alongside. It stays clean and surprisingly calm even when packed, which it often is, and it's free to get in.
