A nice little park for kids of all ages. Wonderful views of Richmond across the river. With a route that leads straight to Marble Hill via the river, it's a great spot for kids to play. However, the café's personnel was kind and the service was excellent. Additionally, the disabled community has complete access to a unisex restroom.

🏆 Family Action Verdict

Best for families wanting a relaxed riverside outing that combines playground time with a longer walk. The link to Marble Hill makes it a natural anchor for a half-day route along the Thames. Quieter than central Richmond — better suited to families who prefer a calmer pace over a full activity-packed day.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

💡Visit in late February or March to see the magnolia trees in full bloom beside the cafe
Combine with a riverside walk to Marble Hill House and Orleans House for a longer family route
🎟️Accessible unisex toilets are on site — useful for families with young children or wheelchair users
🚗The cafe has both indoor and outdoor seating — arrive early on weekends to get an outdoor table

Pleasant riverside park with good views across to Richmond, and an interesting history as explained on notice boards. It can form part of a pleasant walk continuing along the river to Marble Hill Houseand Orleans House and beyond.

Lovely picturesque gardens on the west bank of River Thames. A quiet haven from the bustle of Richmond. There's a children's play ground, picnic tables and great little cafe, with indoors and outdoors seating and a WC. In March the Magnolia Café earns its name.
