1 / 2Frith Manor Equestrian Centre
π London, Greater London
Family-run equestrian centre in 30 acres of Totteridge countryside with two floodlit outdoor arenas and one indoor school. Riding lessons for ages 6 and up. Full, part, and DIY livery with weekly Royal Veterinary College vet visits on-site.
I have been at this yard for a few months now and I am so lucky to have found such a wonderful, friendly place! As a first time horse owner(horse bought for my 14 year old daughter) and new to the horse world, I was apprehensive about being on a yard and being judged about my lack of experience with horses, but I had nothing to worry about as everyone was so helpful and willing to offer advice and answer my many questions! This is a lovely family run yard with amazing facilities and staff. Paul and Josh, father and son owners are great! Josh is also the on-site farrier and he keeps me up to date of when my horse needs new shoes. Paul is just super helpful and always keeps me informed of anything I need to know about my horse. Amanda is the most kindest, helpful person you could ask for, she has been such a huge help to me. Sven is very knowledgeable where horses are concerned and again very helpful. Jill is a wonderful riding instructor, my daughter thoroughly enjoys her lessons and learns a lot from her. This yard is a real gem and I would 100% recommend it to anyone looking for a livery yard in London. Myself, my daughter and my horse are all very happy here!
π Family Action Verdict
Best for families with children aged 6 and up who are serious about learning to ride, and especially for first-time horse owners who need hands-on yard support. The combination of experienced instructors, an on-site farrier, and weekly vet visits makes it a strong choice for livery families.

βWould highly recommend this yard! My daughter and I are keeping our two ponies on full livery here, and theyβre both very well looked after. Due to work and family commitments Iβm not able to go to the yard every day, so knowing they are in good hands when weβre not there is really important to us. The yard has recently come under new management and the new owners, father and son team Paul and Josh are clearly keen to make improvements and listen to the concerns of their liveries. Our horses are getting plenty of turn out (the north London clay soil is of course outside the Yardβs control but the fields are in as good shape as I think they can be), the staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the other liveries are lovely. We are lucky to have an on-site farrier (Josh), and my daughterβs ponyβs feet have really improved since moving here. Would like to see more younger riders (as my daughter is only 9) but other than that we - and the horses- are really happy here. No doubt 2024 will see even more improvements for the liveries here.β

βI have been at this yard for over 3 months now ( I stayed in the past over 1 year with the previous management). As first time horse owner we need help, Sven is very knowledgeable and very helpful. He is also a good riding instructor, and trainer for our young mare. His presence in the yard makes a huge difference. Josh and Paul are very accommodating and eager to listen to any concerns. The fields are much better than they were in the past but most importantly are safer for the horses. The turn out is not as long as I would like but at least I know my horse will not stand in deep mud for hours during the winter season ( little can be done to prevent muddy field in London). My daughters and my horse are all very happy here and we are glad we are back to this livery yard at just 15 minutes driving from home!β

βI started having lessons a few weeks ago and now Iβm hooked, coming from someone that is an experienced rider. Jill was able to take my riding to the next level. Another positive is having the new owner as a Farreir on site, always there to put a loose shoe on!! The new yard manager is very knowledgeable in working around horses and always happy to give a helping hand. Always someone on site and very affordable prices for a lesson/livery yard in London. Really enjoy my time at frith and look forward to it every week. For a riding school it is a very quite yard so nice for liveryβs with young or green horses!β
