1 / 2Gunnersbury Triangle, London Wildlife Trust
📍 London, Greater London
Wet woodland reserve tucked between railway lines near Chiswick Park Station. Decked walkways, ponds, acid grassland, and educational boards on local species. Free entry. Best for a 20–30 minute circular walk.
Beautiful hidden area right next to the station. Hardly discoverable on the map but if you search by name you'll find your way there easily. Recently, this place won a 'Green Award'. Great place for walks, relaxing and discovering the local flora and fauna. The creators placed boards around the reserve with information about the animals and plants. That's why it can be a great place to take the kids also and teach them to something important and interesting about the nature.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
A strong pick for families wanting a quick, genuinely wild nature fix in west London without any entry cost. The 20–30 minute circular walk suits all ages on foot, and the wildlife boards give older children something to hunt for. Paths are not buggy-friendly and jogging is not suitable.

“A wonderful nature reserve, which is much larger than it first appears to be. It occupies a triangle of land between railway lines, and is accessible by one entrance near Chiswick Park Station. There is a circular walk around it, with the paths well kept and marked by silver birch logs, and informative displays at various points.”

“Lovely “triangle” of nature in the middle of Chiswick. Like a mini forest between railway and residential buildings, with a little pond. Incredible that they managed to keep it from being turned into a block of flats.... Looked after by volunteers (I think). It’s not huge but will take you 20-30mins to go around the paths.”

“Nice green area.. In busy city... It's a small triangle of green land.. Where you can come and take a walk... Observe nature. This place is always open.Gate is opposite to a barber shop. Just open the wooden gate and go in. Nice place to visit over weekend morning walk... But certainly not a place to jog etc... As not so much well maintained road... Overall beautiful. 😍”
