1 / 2Holmlea Park Playground
π Glasgow, Central Scotland
Multi-zone park in Glasgow with a children's playground, football and basketball courts, a running track, and outdoor exercise machines across wide open grass spaces. Pram-friendly throughout with good bus links on both sides.
Nice local park. Thereβs a play area for children with lots to do. Thereβs a basketball and football court and a running track, and some simple exercise machines as well. Nice wide open spaces and there are two bus stops on either side, the First number 4 and 6 respectively.
π Family Action Verdict
Best for active families with children across a wide age range who want sport, play, and open space in one park. The combination of courts, track, playground, and gym equipment is genuinely rare for a free community park. Bring appropriate footwear β the surface gets slippery when wet.

βLovely park, kids play area, football/basketball pitches, outdoor exercise equipment, lots of grass to sit on/let the kids/dogs run around. Friendly people (and friendly dogs-great for socialising puppies).β

βFor sport there is no better place for getting your kids to kick or throw a ball. Pity it gets so silty and slidey.β

Overview
Holmlea Park packs a children's play area, full-size football and basketball courts, a running track, and a set of outdoor exercise machines into a single site with wide open grass for ball games and free running. Bus stops for First routes 4 and 6 sit on either side of the park. Surfaces can become silty and slippery after wet weather. Dog walkers are frequent and sociable. The park has faced periods of reduced maintenance and locals are encouraged to keep using it actively.
