The most ethical, horse centred riding school I have ever used. The coaches are fantastic and really help you improve all aspects of riding and horse care.

🏆 Family Action Verdict

Best for families who want riding instruction built on ethical horse welfare, from complete beginners to experienced riders. Children and adults learn side by side, and the varied hacking routes — with opportunities for cantering — reward returning riders. Open Days are a practical starting point for families new to the centre.

I’ve been coming to Kingsmead for about six months now and it’s been the perfect place to restart my riding journey. The hacking routes are beautiful and varied and there’s normally a chance for a few good canters. I’ve only done a handful of lessons, but have learned so much in all of them. Most importantly, the staff are all lovely and the horses are clearly happy and well looked after. Living in London, the riding options are fairly limited so I’m so happy to have found Kingsmead!

I found Kingsmead Equestrian Centre through their Open Day this year. I proceeded to win a free lesson at the Open Day I restarted my horse riding journey after 10 years. There are so many beautiful and well cared for horses and ponies. Plenty of bridleways and hacking opportunities. I have personally worked with a few of the junior coaches and had some fantastic lessons. They have many lovely staff members and volunteers. They have other opportunities for various people.

This is a well run stables with many well schooled (and very well cared for) horses and ponies. The owner is very knowledgeable and strives to pass on her knowledge to the staff and customers. 100% recommend this business whether you are young or old , a beginner or advanced. The horses are not over worked and all receive the best attention from all at the yard. Please try them.
