Historic West End cinema with Dolby Vision projection and advanced Dolby sound. Best for older children and teens on a special occasion, particularly for big-format releases and rare film events like VistaVision screenings.

Saw Wicked For Good in the Dolby screen. It was an experience! Loud and cheerful audience. The sound was fantastic. The lobby was clean and spacious, despite having a lot of people and movement. The toilets were clean, and that's important for me! The reclining seats were great! Relaxing way to watch the movie from one of those premier seats. Definitely worth watching a movie here once if you are in the UK, and near or in London. It's Dolby cinema for crying out loud. At least one movie in your life should be seen in a Dolby.

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Best for families with older children or teens who want a genuine premium cinema event β€” a Dolby opening night, a VistaVision screening, or a major musical like Wicked. The Stalls and Royal Circle deliver the best viewing angles. The premium ticket price makes this a special-occasion venue rather than a regular outing.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

πŸ’‘Book Stalls or Royal Circle seats for the best Dolby Vision viewing angles
⏰Check whether Oscar's Bar will be open before arriving β€” it closes during some screenings
🎟️Screen 1 is the main Dolby screen β€” confirm your screen number at booking
πŸš—Arrive early for VistaVision or special format screenings as these are infrequent events

β€œSat in the Royal Circle and watched Wicked For Good. Picture quality was pin sharp with bright colour reproduction due to the Dolby Vision. Sound was good too and they have seemed to have gotten rid of the echo in the auditorium which I noticed on previous visits. Tickets weren’t cheap but we did an organist banging out some tunes before the film started.”

β€œWatched One Battle After Another in VistaVision on 28.09.2025 at 11am. We sat on seats 11 & 12 of row D, in the balcony. It wasn’t the best place to watch the film as the screen size is certainly not IMAX, but it was definitely a great experience. The VistaVision experience was great; color saturation and contrast had that nice organic feeling. The sound system was great too, capable of shaking the seats when needed but not too overwhelming, and capable also of bringing the more subtle moments. Dialogue was always understandable. The movie was also great!”

β€œAn ok cinema - there’s nothing out of the ordinary about this place, it clearly trades on its location and history. The sole positive is the cinema hall itself (screen 1). Good audio visual in Dolby format and comfortable seating. I would recommend the Stalls or Royal Box. I went to a showing of One Battle After Another. You would have not known from anything inside the cinema that this was only one of three places in the world showing the film in VistaVision - they had made no effort to lean into the experience and make it a memorable one. I got there early to get a drink. The Oscar’s Bar was closed. Most of the seats in the foyer were taken up by people drinking Costa Coffee - not a premium experience. The toilets are very small and awkwardly shaped with average fixtures & fittings and bottles of soap - again, not a premium experience. I might come across as being picky, but when you’re paying a minimum of Β£18, up to potentially Β£31 a ticket, I expect a premium or β€œLuxe” experience from Odeon’s flagship cinema. Go once to say you’ve been, but otherwise save your money. The audio visual Dolby experience is replicated in the nearby Odeon West End, so just go there instead.”
