Enjoyed a movie over the weekend there. Staff very friendly and helpful. The place is clean and has a wide variety of snacks

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Best for families who prioritise central Manchester location and value friendly staff over premium facilities. The pram access and convenient location work for families passing through the city. Families wanting clean, modern auditoriums will find better options nearby β€” this venue trades on character and accessibility rather than condition.

ℹ️ What to Know Before You Go

πŸ’‘Bring extra layers β€” auditoriums run cold consistently across reviews
⏰Check your seat on arrival as cleanliness can vary between screenings
🎟️Parking is available on-site β€” confirm before visiting as availability fluctuates
πŸš—Staff are genuinely helpful β€” don't hesitate to raise any issues with them directly

β€œSuch a fascinating cinema to visit. The back room esque vibes from the wasted space is something. Your can tell its a worn cinema not from the decor but from the actual screens. Staff are pretty good at keeping screens clean, but the age brings it down. That being said, the staff here are so lovely and easy to work with. Happy to call this my local cinema”

β€œIt's not a bad cinema. It's a bit older but you should probably consider that before going in Rooms for improvement could be their seating arrangements tbh. Otherwise it's unfortunately incredibly easy to get to I say unfortunately because most of the people I know who go here live in the city centre and it costs me money to get to here via car”

β€œThis is our local cinema and we love coming here. Very regular visitors at least once a month or more! I’ve been 3 times in the past month and whilst I love the buildings kept its old fashioned cinema style and charm, the seats in the theatres are so dirty and worn. Also each time I have come it’s has been freezing cold, each time I have brung a blanket and extra layers to keep warm and even so I’ve left absolutely shivering! The staff are lovely and the snacks and drinks are of usual standard, and the ticket prices are fair compared to other local cinemas, I just wish that going forward there is some consideration to the comfort of the patrons, as I have seen that on other reviews people have noted these concerns and yet nothing has been physically done or actioned from this.”

Overview

ODEON Manchester Great Northern occupies a distinctive older building in central Manchester, offering multiple screens with pram access and on-site parking. Staff consistently receive praise for friendliness and helpfulness. The building's age shows in the seating and screen condition β€” maintenance standards are mixed. Temperature inside auditoriums runs cold. Families with young children should that cleanliness standards vary between visits.
